Business Initiation Trip Brazil

Project

From 13.10.2025 to 17.10.2025, the German-Brazilian Chamber of Industry and Commerce (AHK Brazil in Rio de Janeiro) in cooperation with German RETech Partnership is conducting a business initiation trip to Brazil on behalf of the Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Energy. This is a project-related funding measure as part of the market development program for SMEs. The target group is primarily small and medium-sized German companies (SMEs).

Title:

Business Initiation Trip Brazil

Region:

Rio de Janeiro, São Paulo

Duration:

October 13, 2025 – October 17, 2025

Partners:

German-Brazilian Chamber of Industry and Commerce (AHK Brazil in Rio de Janeiro) in cooperation with German RETech Partnership on behalf of the Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Energy

Goal

The business initiation offers German companies an ideal opportunity to position themselves in a promising market at an early stage and actively contribute to the further development of sustainable waste management in Brazil.

Background

The waste management and recycling sector in Brazil is developing into a significant growth market. According to the Brazilian Association of Public Waste Management and Hazardous Waste Companies (Abrelpe), around 79 million tons of waste are generated in the country every year. Around 60% of this volume is currently disposed of in landfills – a clear indication of the urgent need for more sustainable and efficient disposal solutions.

At the same time, Brazil is taking the first steps towards a circular economy. This includes waste recycling initiatives such as composting organic waste and converting waste into biofuels and energy.
