Review: EXI Experience Exchange 2025

24-09-2025

On September 18, 2025, the annual and, for the time being, last EXI Experience Exchange in the field of circular economy organized by German RETech Partnership took place in Berlin. The event, which was organized on behalf of the Federal Ministry for the Environment, Climate Protection, Nature Conservation, and Nuclear Safety (BMUKN), was organized for all EXI project participants. The focus was on the topic of “Financing project development and implementation.”

The event began with several short presentations and a keynote that highlighted different perspectives on financing models, international funding structures, and successful practical examples. This was followed by a live survey that gave participants the opportunity to identify current challenges in financing.

Another part of the program was the expert panel, where participants could ask specific questions and benefit from the experiences of others. Building on this, the participants worked in three stations as part of a World Café: technology and services, business models, financing, and project development. At the end, the results from the stations were presented and discussed in a plenary session.

The open and interactive design of the workshops provided valuable insights for practical implementation. The EXI Experience Exchange 2025 once again highlighted the importance of exchange between project partcipants. Together, experiences were shared, understanding of financing issues was deepened, and perspectives for the successful continuation of the projects were developed.
