The “Country Profiles” project, launched in 2016, was initiated as part of the Environmental Protection Export Initiative of the Federal Ministry for the Environment, Climate Action, Nature Conservation and Nuclear Safety (BMUKN) to provide German companies in the water and recycling industry with targeted information about international markets and to promote the export of sustainable environmental technologies.
Region:
Africa, Asia, America, Europe
Term:
2016 – 2020
Partners:
German Water Partnership e.V. (GWP); Information on other project partners can be found in the respective country profiles.
Goal of the Project
The aim of the Country Profiles project is to provide small and medium-sized companies with targeted, reliable market information on water and recycling management. This is intended to facilitate investment decisions and support entry into foreign markets that lack transparency. Overall, the country profiles promote the spread of sustainable German environmental technologies and strengthen the international competitiveness of SMEs from Germany.
Main goals
- Provision of industry-specific information on water and waste management
- Creation of a basis for investment decisions and market development strategies
Backround
Due to population growth and increasing demand for raw materials, there is a growing need worldwide for sustainable water and waste management. Knowledge of the markets and their framework conditions is a prerequisite for the international marketing of these technologies. As part of its environmental protection export initiative, the Federal Environment Ministry has funded the creation and dissemination of country profiles to give entrepreneurs access to relevant market information and promote the spread of sustainable German technologies worldwide.
