As global consumption continues to rise, so does the production of waste. This trend poses a significant challenge in all regions, but islands with limited space and with growing tourism face particularly acute difficulties. This is the topic of this years RETech Conferece 2024 “Transforming Islands’ Waste Management: Overcoming Challenges with Sustainable Solutions”. The two-day event, organized by RETech on behalf of the Export Initiative for Environmental Protection (EXI) of the Federal Ministry for the Environment, Climate Action, Nature Conservation and Nuclear Safety (BMUKN), brought together more than 100 stakeholders from business, science and politics to exchange ideas and identify new perspectives.
