Waste and Recycling in Mongolia – Market Exploration Delegation for German Companies

On behalf of the German Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Energy (BMWE), COMMIT is organizing a market exploration trip on “Waste and Recycling” to Mongolia in cooperation with German RETech Partnership e.V., bvse – Federal Association for Secondary Raw Materials and Waste Disposal, and the Mongolian Employers’ Federation (MONEF). The trip is scheduled for 5 – 9 October 2026.

Mongolia is one of the most dynamic economies in Central Asia and is experiencing steady population growth. At the same time, municipalities face significant challenges in waste management. Increasing waste volumes, limited landfill capacity, and growing demand for sustainable waste treatment solutions are driving the need for modernization.

This creates a wide range of business opportunities for German companies across the value chain, including recycling and sorting technologies, landfill engineering, organic waste treatment, e-waste, construction and demolition waste, and hazardous waste management. Investments from international donors are further stimulating market development.

The five-day delegation offers participating companies the opportunity to gain first-hand insights into the local market and establish targeted business contacts. The program includes expert briefings, a presentation and networking event, as well as individually arranged B2B meetings with potential partners from industry, public authorities, and associations. Site visits to relevant projects and institutions complement the program.

The program is primarily aimed at small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) based in Germany. The participation fee ranges from €250 to €1,500 (net), depending on company size, plus individual travel and accommodation costs.

German RETech Partnership is proud to support this program in close collaboration with COMMIT.
